No.  This is a form of discrimination and it is forbidden to do so.  A worker has 90 days to file a discrimination complaint with L&I if this does happen.  Forms can be found on the Department’s website at: https://lni.wa.gov/workers-rights/workplace-complaints/discrimination-in-the-workplace.  An employer can legally fire an employee “for cause,” even if that employee is working light-duty as the result of an on-the-job injury.
